About Justine's Breast Cancer Crusade
In March 2001, Avon Justine launched the iThemba Crusade of Hope to help spread education and awareness about breast cancer across South Africa. iThemba is a Zulu word which means hope Avon Justine has raised in excess of R6 million through the sale of special "pink ribbon" products for breast cancer education and awareness in South Africa. iThembafirst breast cancer awareness conferences were held in 2009 to educate Gauteng nurses and community health workers about breast cancer. Various breast cancer specialists and government officials addressed the conference and breast cancer awareness materials were distributed to all delegates. Look Good...Feel Better Ladies' Days In 2009, iThemba sponsored two ladies hugely effective in motivating and inspiring cancer patients.

iThemba has funded two mobile units for CANSA to promote awareness of breast and cervical cancer in rural areas. The units also conduct pap smears and breast examinations. | Mobile Breast Cancer Educational Unit
In 2009, iThemba launched a mobile breast cancer educational unit in the district of Sebokeng. Staffed by two community educators who are themselves breast cancer survivors, the unit travels throughout the region to help with the early detection of breast cancer. In 2009, the unit reached over 30 000 women. |
